Biography

Caroline King is the Director of the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement, established in 2024. Caroline has spent the past 18 years serving the Southern Maryland community in various capacities. Most recently, she was a Program Director at Southern Maryland Resource Conservation & Development (RC&D), a nonprofit organization focused on land conservation, natural resources, and community development projects. She has also worked as an attorney for NAVAIR at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, an editor for a regional magazine, and a leader in local politics. For the past two years, she has taught at St. Mary's College of Maryland as an adjunct professor. Having worked in the government, small business, nonprofit, and higher education sectors, she brings a breadth of professional experience to her new role at the College.

Caroline has also served on several civic boards for St. Mary's County government (Planning Commission, Recreation & Parks Board, Commission on the Environment, and Compensation Review Commission), the Southern Maryland Youth Orchestra & Choir Board of Directors, and the St. Mary's College of Maryland Institutional Review Board. She's volunteered with St. Mary's Parish and CASA of Southern Maryland, as well as the public school system and various youth sports leagues. She is dedicated to fostering meaningful partnerships and enhancing the relationship between the College and surrounding community.

Caroline has a bachelor's degree from University of Maryland and a law degree from University of Baltimore.
