"If you are sincere and genuine in your craft it will show and it will resonate."
Will Hemsley '05 lives in Centreville, Maryland where he both works on his art in his studio and captains a charter boat with his father. He has commissioned various sculptures and paintings throughout Maryland, and uses his experiences from growing up on the water to inspire his work. In 2015, Hemsley's "Fallen Star" sculpture was dedicated at Aberdeen Proving Ground office complex outside of Baltimore, Maryland. The sculpture was dedicated in honor of Major General Harold Greene and fallen warfighters of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. He strives to complete one big sculpture project per year while working on his paintings in between.
"Try to get to the essence of why you chose this pursuit to begin with. If you are sincere and genuine in your craft it will show and it will resonate."
