Taylor Shafer '15/MAT '16 was selected as 2025 Teacher of the Year for Cecil County Public Schools. She will be in the running for Maryland Teacher of the Year.

As an undergraduate, Shafer was a history major with minors in museum studies and educational studies before entering the Master of Arts in Teaching program. “The professors were so dedicated to our cohort and I felt so supported throughout the program," she said. "They modeled for us how to be effective educators, and I'm grateful for that.”
