Leo Montenegro ’25 earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Languages and Cultures–Spanish from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 2025. While at St. Mary’s, Leo participated in directed research for several semesters with both Dr. Ayse Ikizler’s Multicultural Psychology Lab and Dr. Jennifer Tickle’s Social Psychology Lab. In 2025, he served as Head Teaching Assistant for the PSYC 204/206 Psychological Research, Analysis and Writing course sequence and won the Wilhelm Wundt Award for excellence in quantitative and methodological coursework. In 2024, he won the Margaret Floy Washburn Award for exemplifying superior understanding of research and experimentation in psychology. During the 2024–25 academic year, Leo served as the social media manager for Psi Chi and president of the Alianza Club, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He is currently a research associate in the Research Engagement and Community Health (REACH) Lab at the University of Miami.
