Biography

Renea Morris, M.Ed., APR, Fellow PRSA, is a seasoned communications, branding, and marketing executive with more than 30 years of experience and 17 years in higher education leadership. She currently serves as Interim AVP for Communications and Marketing at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.

Morris is known for helping institutions clarify their voice, align leadership, and execute integrated strategies that drive measurable results. She previously served as Vice Chancellor for Marketing and Communications at the University of Denver, where she was a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, and previously held a senior leadership role as Chief Marketing Officer at Ohio University. Her work has contributed to record enrollment growth, national brand development, and high-impact, multi-channel campaigns.

Most recently, she has served as a senior brand strategist with Carnegie Higher Ed and as interim AVP for Enrollment Marketing at Excelsior University, where she led organizational transformation and contributed to enrollment growth. A trusted advisor to presidents and senior teams, she designs and leads executive workshops on strategic messaging, leadership communication, and institutional alignment, and is a frequent speaker at national conferences.

She holds a Master of Education in organizational leadership from Ohio University and a bachelor’s degree in speech communications from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and has completed executive education at Duke University and the University of Chicago.
