St. Mary’s College of Maryland Ranked Among America’s Top Colleges by Forbes

St. Mary’s College of Maryland is a top college in America, according to a 2018 ranking by Forbes of America’s Top Colleges. In fact, St. Mary’s College is listed among the top 250 in Forbes Best Value Colleges, 74th in public colleges, 77th in liberal arts universities, and 97th in the Northeast. 

 

According to Forbes, “St. Mary’s College of Maryland is a secular public honors college in St. Mary’s City, Md. St. Mary’s has more than 75 degree programs. Some 40% of St. Mary's students study abroad. The campus is home to a 100-plus-seat movie theater, fire pits, grills and a waterfront facility equipped with kayaks and paddleboards, as well as The Boyden Gallery and Collection, a 2,000-piece art museum with works by Dali and Picasso. St. Mary’s awards grants and scholarships to nearly 90% of financial aid applicants. St. Mary's College teams, known as the Seahawks, participate as members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division III.”   

 

St. Mary’s College has recently received several accolades. St. Mary’s College is ranked #6 Best Public Liberal Arts College in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, #28 Among Top Liberal Arts Colleges by 2018 Washington Monthly College Guide, #1 in Peace Corps Volunteers among small colleges, #6 among the Top 50 Green Colleges and listed among Best 384 Colleges by the Princeton Review. The College is also included in the 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges, Money’s 2018-19 Best Colleges, recognized as a 2018-19 College of Distinction, and ranked among the Best Colleges of Maryland by Schools.com.
