St. Mary’s College of Maryland Ranked Sixth Best Public Liberal Arts College in U.S. News & World Report

St. Mary’s College of Maryland is ranked as the nation’s sixth best public liberal arts college in U.S. News & World Report’s “2019 Best Colleges” released Monday. St. Mary’s College also ranks 95 on the national liberal arts colleges list, public and private, 109 in best value schools and 89 in high school counselor rankings.

"We are among the top liberal arts colleges in the nation and the first of our kind," said College President Tuajuanda C. Jordan. "Together, with students, faculty, staff, and our community, St. Mary's College is leading the way. We lead through our programming, our service, and our passion. We lead through not trying to be like everyone else but by simply being our best selves."

National liberal arts colleges ranked by U.S. News & World Report emphasize undergraduate education. To be included in this category, colleges must award at least 50 percent of their degrees in liberal arts disciplines. In addition to the U.S. New & World Report rankings St. Mary’s College has recently received several accolades. St. Mary’s is ranked #28 Among Top Liberal Arts Colleges by 2018 Washington Monthly College Guide, #1 in Peace Corps Volunteers among small colleges, #6 among the Top 50 Green Colleges and listed among Best 384 Colleges by the Princeton Review,. The College is also included in the 2019 Fiske Guide to Colleges, Money’s 2018-19 Best Colleges, and Forbes Best Value Colleges, recognized as a 2018-19 College of Distinction, and ranked among the Best Colleges of Maryland by Schools.com.
