On Friday, May 15, St. Mary’s College of Maryland Board of Trustees approved 278 Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Science and 20 Master of Arts of Teaching graduates of the St. Mary’s College Class of 2020.

“The class of 2020 is truly a special class, experiencing a senior year that no one could have envisioned. But through it all, they have shown strength of character, vigor in their learning and resilience in continuing on their path into the world. I am just as immensely proud of them as they should be of themselves.” said Tuajuanda C. Jordan, president of St. Mary’s College.

The graduating class includes 159 Bachelor of Art degrees and 119 Bachelor of Science degrees. Of the 278 graduates, 57 students earned double majors and 3 earned triple majors.

An on-campus Commencement ceremony to officially recognize the graduating class will be held at a later date. In the meantime, to help celebrate the accomplishments of the class of 2020, a graduation recognition webpage will be launched on Saturday, May 23, on the College’s website (www.smcm.edu). Plus, St. Mary’s College distributed congratulatory SMCM yard signs for seniors to display at their homes.

In an effort to provide important career resources and networking opportunities remotely, graduating seniors were given access to the College’s recently launched Job-IQ program, an online career literacy curriculum that includes a Professional Contacts Directory that virtually connects students with working professionals who are SMCM alumni, community and friends of the College.
