Congratulations to Meg Chee, the Seahawk Spirit Award winner for July!
Meg is the Professional Pathways First Year Coordinator in the Center for Career & Professional Development and was nominated under the Community Service category. This is what the nominator shared about Meg: "In April 2024 it was Megan's idea to have an "eclipse" party in the pillow-she worked with groups on campus to bring telescopes-she organized the event for everyone who wanted to show up and had snacks/drinks/scientific data/eclipse glasses-it was truly awesome and many people came. We all work hard and it was a great idea that brought people together. Megan also volunteered to be on a committee formed by HR/Payroll to help navigate/assist with the student timesheet process with Anthology. Even though her department is down several people, she took the time and then came up with some alternative options that may help not only her departments, but other departments on campus. She is sharing her ideas as a presentation to ARC timekeepers in July. She's an asset to SMCM!" As the monthly winner, Meg will receive 5 meal tickets to the Great Room, a certificate of appreciation, and will be featured in the next issue of our Staff Senate newsletter.
