Join us this Juneteenth to help shape the future mission of the Commemorative to Enslaved People of Southern Maryland at St Mary’s College of Maryland. Built in honor of those forced to labor in the region, the Commemorative celebrates stories of Black resilience, resistance, and freedom. This pop-up station will feature informational displays telling the story of the monument and invites your input on what should come next.

This series forms part of a larger Commemorative Futures project that seeks to outline visions for the Commemorative to the Enslaved Peoples of Southern Maryland. Help us define the next steps and be a part of the wider conversation concerning the power of memory in public.
