Biography

David Turner began his tour of duty with Public Safety in August of 2010. He served as a Dispatcher until 2018, and received certifications as a Public Safety Telecommunicator and Communications Training Officer. He provided communications and dispatch training for other dispatch staff, student employees, and new officers, updated the communications training process, and performed multiple administrative duties as well. In 2018, he transitioned into the role of a patrol officer, and is now assigned to the evening shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.) patrol squad. Officer Turner is one of the department's Crisis Intervention Team members, and serves as a Field Training Officer. Outside of Public Safety, fills the role of staff advisor for the SMCM Outdoor Adventure Club.
