Welcoming Ciara Williams to the Career Development Center

Please join us in welcoming Ciara WIlliams to the Career Development Center (CDC) team as the Associate Director of Career Education.  In this position, Ciara will oversee the professional pathway curriculum.  Ciara comes to us from the Office of Student Support Services (OS3) where she joined the college as the Student Support Specialist in 2018.  During her time in OS3, Ciara taught in the Professional Pathway and brings with her working knowledge of the curriculum and a strong understanding of the college and our student population. 

Ciara earned her B.A in Education from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and is currently a second-year graduate student studying Higher Education Administration at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. Before coming to SMCM, Ciara taught for Prince George’s County Public Schools where she researched, planned, developed, implemented and revised curriculum for her grade levels’ various subjects. 

 

Ciara has always been an advocate for student success; she strives to create a place where all students can flourish in and beyond the classroom. She loves connecting with students as the advisor of Black Student Union and collaborating with various faculty and staff. She lives by the famous words of Dr. Maya Angelou: “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
