Summer Conferences & Events Assistant Positions Available

Each summer, the Office of Events & Conferences provides customer service and logistical support to a variety of day and residential groups who host programs on the SMCM campus. In addition to working with our summer conference groups, we also plan and execute the River Concert Series, the annual Governor’s Cup Yacht Race weekend and other on-campus events throughout the summer. Our summer conferences and events assistants play an integral role in the success of these summer programs and events by augmenting our staff and serving as the liaisons between our guests and the College to insure a 100% positive client experience. Typical conference duties include inspecting residences prior to client’s arrival, preparing keys and welcome packets, maintaining and distributing bed and bath linens, A/V set ups, checking in/out groups upon arrival and departure, and multiple daily consultations with group leaders to insure all needs are met. Typical event duties include event set up/break down, monitoring vendor set up, and assisting with transporting mobility challenged individuals. The job of a Summer Conferences and Events Assistant proves to be both intense and rewarding.

Conferences and Events Assistants will receive on campus housing and a meal plan for the duration of their employment.
